Hello Darlings!
Hope you are all good :) As you may remember I am currently trying to lose weight. A few weeks ago I did the 3 day diet to help kick start my weight loss and managed to lose 5lbs. Well, between the end of that diet and last week I managed to lose a further 2lbs through plain and simple healthy eating. Today I'm going to tell you about a diet I began last thursday. It goes by the name of The 7 day Sacred Heart Diet and I do not recommend it at all!! I had never done this diet before, so I had no idea what it was going to be like. It didn't sound to bad to be honest, but it was.
I was hungry and tired constantly, but it wasn't until last night (day 6) that enough was enough. I literally could not move from the toilet (I know too much information!) My stomach swelled up and was making the most strange noises I have ever heard in my life, I was vomiting too. This is when I decided this diet is so not worth it. I was awake and in agony for the entire night. There was absolutely no way I was going to continue with it, I just wanted to get weighed and throw some decent food down my neck!
The 7 day Sacred Heart Diet
The principle of this diet is to fill up on a very low calorie soup, which can be consumed in as large a quantity as is needed. Other foods are off limits, except for the foods prescribed for each day, as are alcoholic drinks. The diet lasts for 7 days, after which time dieters are supposed to have lost at least 10 pounds, as well as feeling cleansed and rejuvenated.
I'm not going to post the recipe of the soup etc but if you would like to see it click here. Like I said I do not recommend this diet, but here's what I had to eat each day, along with the soup ...
Day One - As much fruit as you want, except bananas.
Day Two - As much veg as you want and a large baked potato with butter.
Day Three - As much fruit and veg as you want.
Day Four - At least 3 bananas and as much skimmed milk as you want.
Day Five - 10 to 20 oz beef, cooked in any way except fried and one tin of tomatoes.
Day Six - As much beef and veg as you want.
Day Seven - As much brown rice and veg as you want.
Anyway, I got weighed after my 6th day and I had lost 10lbs! Amazing obviously, but not worth making myself ill over. I will never ever do this diet ever again, but I can't promise I won't have a go of other fad diets. The super-fast weight loss is just sooo tempting. For now though I am enjoying being reunited with my best friend mr carb!
Oh my god that is alot of weight shed! It's bad that it made you feel so ill some diets are really bad...
ReplyDeleteI've been eating healthy and bad things in moderation and have lost 12lb since november so getting there slowly so i maintain my weight and keep it off...good luck! x

DeleteIt's most likely a crash diet. I know I used to be obsessed with weight since I was 16.. I'm turning 24 soon and now I'm just eating enough to maintain which I do very well lol.
ReplyDeleteAww good for you :) Hopefully I can maintain what I lose x
Deleteo dear, I hope you felt better not long after! I don't think I could ever try a really strict diet, I love food too much xxx
ReplyDeleteI felt better about 2 days after the diet ended, I'll never attempt such a hard diet again xxx
DeleteHI! I found you on FB (Beauty Blog Boosters) and here I am! Thanks for your very honest post. I loved that! I too am always trying to lose weight. The only thing that ever worked for me was eating healthy and working out. I lost 40 pounds like that! But I love food way too much that it all came back on and then some. Boooo :( I'm at my heaviest right now and I'm still trying to motivate myself to try again the right way :) Good luck to you!
ReplyDeleteHey, cool :) You are so welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed reading! Like you, I lost alot of weight and put it back on :/ Such a nightmare isn't it? I only have to look at a doughnut and put half a stone on! Thanks hunnie, good luck to you too xoxo
DeleteSorry you're feeling bad. I can't do strict diets either :/
ReplyDeleteSo difficult to stick to aren't they :/ x
DeleteOh my goodness! I'm so sorry that you got ill from this diet. Congrats on all the weight loss so far! But I agree, no diet that makes you feel like that is worth it. Good luck on your journey, Tiffeny!!! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks so much chick :) xoxo
DeleteI've done this diet, but it was called 'the cabbage soup diet'. I didn't react quite as bad to it as you have! I found it ok, just i got bored of the soup so ended up living off the foods given for each day! Hope you're feeling better soon.
